At the GA on Saturday, April 14, Occupy Tucson endorsed by consensus the “Tax Wealth, Not Work” Day of Action sponsored by Pima Area Labor Federation and Jobs with Justice. The media are present when drivers arrive to mail their tax returns last minute, and this is an opportunity to bring attention to disparity in tax rates between the 99% and the 1%, as well as the proposed closing of the Cherrybell mail processing center.
When: Tuesday, April 17, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Where: Across the street from the Cherrybell Main Post Office, 1501 S. Cherrybell Strav. (South Side)It was also proposed at the Saturday, April 14, GA to vote on proposed agenda items at a future meeting instead of the meeting at which they’re brought up; therefore, this proposal should be on the agenda of the Wednesday, April 18, General Assembly. [Note: IT is working on procedures to make it easier for people to know which proposals have been brought up and need to be voted on.]
