Dear Fellow Occupy Tucson Activists,

At this Saturday’s Three PM Upcoming General Assembly Meeting, we will be voting on the Occupedia Project of the OT-Education Working Group.

Occupedia will be the data base of the 99% for archiving all of the important and relevant articles, reports, news pieces, statistics, web sites, quotations, Occupy Movement Documents, fliers and information sheets needed for the movement to educate itself and in turn to inform the 99% how the obscene concentration of wealth has given a small group of people disproportionate economic and political power creating economic and social injustice throughout our society and the world.

We need a dynamic and accessible archive for the data and information we need as Occupy Activists for incorporation into speeches, fliers, proposals, presentations, motions, and legislation, and for educational activities like teach in’s and workshops. With the Occupedia, valuable research performed by any one of us will be saved and archived for immediate review when needed in the future for the completion of a practical task e.g. preparing fliers, interviews, statements, articles, education.

Occupedia has the potential for becoming a valuable resource if thousands of activists choose to participate in the project. It can help to unite and coordinate the movement throughout the country. Good documentation, along with good ideas and good actions, can spread like prairie fire across the country just like word of the Democracy Movement was spread by social media during the Arab Spring

Please raise your voice in consensus for the Occupedia. Just as importantly, please feel free to build it into an effective tool by working on the education committee and/or by making submissions.

  2. Occupy Tucson’s Occupedia Project has the potential to be an invaluable contribution to the Movement everywhere! Huge thanks for bringing this forward for consensus and action.

  3. Myself and Craig offered to setup a wikipedia install for just this purpose but it was refused because Sherry wanted to set it up and wanted people to show her how to do it rather then just get it up and running she wanted to do it herself yet admitted she didn’t know how to administer a wiki setup.

  4. We think this is a great idea, too. If we work together, it can become a reality. Please contribute to Occupedia here
